Ahhh....the look of barn doors in a home..... It it a simple way to bring in the rustic charm.  Barn doors are one of the most sought after features of a home these days and they go beyond your normal doorway. Even if your home is not the typical farmhouse, these barn doors can add character and country inspiration with minimal effort.  Whether you are looking for an attention grabbing entry, a space saving solution or a way to divide rooms, there's a sliding door that is appropriate for your home and decorating style.

Here are a few ideas:

If you want a subtle way to divide a room, a door painted bright white adds a clean and simple feel to the space.  A perfect entrance to an office or even a dining room off the entry way. This idea will provide a cohesive feel with other doors in your home.

Looking for an attention grabber?  Use a barn door to add a pop of color.  This space has a transitional, modern feel but the barn door adds a rustic element with a twist.  The bold red makes a statement in this neutral color scheme.

Loving the use of the barn doors with chalkboard insets.  This is perfect for the pantry area to write messages, dinner menus, grocery lists or even for the kids to decorate. Hide all of the clutter while adding character to your kitchen.  This would be great in the laundry room too!!

Have a home with a view or a great outdoor space?  Windows, Windows, Windows!!! Just add a ton of windows to your sliding door and voila, you can bring the outdoors in.  The windows offer an inviting space filled with natural light and once you open the sliding doors the space feels double in size.  What a great place to entertain.

Another great idea is to create a barn door look for your cabinets.  This one has incorporated the unique chalkboard idea but you could just as easily use beadboard or shiplap to create a sliding cabinet with the barn door charm. Again, a great way to hide the clutter with a charming element only a sliding barn door can create.

We all know we can't live without a TV in the home but sometimes you need to have a way to hide it when not in use. The heavy hardware completes the country inspired look.  What a cute place to read a book, watch a movie or chat with friends.

Want the look of a barn door without the wood?  Try different materials to give your sliding door a totally different vibe. This one uses a metal door that creates an industrial look. The idea is the same just a different spin on your traditional barn door.

Barn doors have character all their own and can be used in just about any design style whether it is industrial, modern, transitional or a rustic farmhouse.  They can hang quietly in a room or shout personality with bold colors and unique hardware.  Mix and match the material to show off your style.  Barn doors are a great way to bring Sweet Country Style to any home. I hope these ideas bring you inspiration and you find that perfect place to hang a barn door in your home.
